🦉 Jungian Wisdom: Confronting Fear and Finding Meaning in Life

Walk your path with boldness! All my life I was stuck in the fears created mostly by myself and social conditioning. I should be like this, not like that. I never learn to stand up for myself, being myself. Even as social worker, who always stood up for the right of children and women. Always intimidated by others and by life challenges, without my own voice or power.

Only now, in the afternoon of my life I could say with boldness I have my own being and is living in my own power.

Let’s take a moment at Carl Jung’s quote. “The spirit of evil is the negation of the life force by fear. Only boldness can deliver us frm fear. If the risk is not taken, the meaning of this life is violated.”

Jung believed that fear can stop us from living our best life, and the only way to overcome it is by being bold and taking risks.

Jung also believed that taking risks is essential to finding meaning in life. He didn’t think that meaning was something that we could stumble upon. Instead, he believed that we had to actively seek it out. That meant being willing to take risks and face challenges head-on.

If you’re feeling stuck or unsure of what to do next, here are some questions that can help you navigate life’s challenges. These questions can help you reflect on your life and find new ways to grow and evolve. Here they are:

  1. Where did this come from? What is really happening here now? What does my psyche want me to know?
  2. What is this symptom, say depression, trying to tell me? What is the function of the symptom?
  3. Do I really show up for life? How can I show up?
  4. How do I live my life in the face of this challenge/situation e.g. my own mortality?
  5. How do I grow in the face of the challenges/situation/my mortality?
  6. How do I find inner growth if the outer life is falling apart?

By asking yourself these questions, you can gain new insights into your life and discover new ways to move forward. Jung believed that by being bold and taking risks, we can uncover the true meaning of life and live it to the fullest.

So, go out there and be bold! Take risks, embrace the unknown, and explore those difficult emotions. Getting to understand yourself better, find a therapist who can guide you. I would love to contemplate these questions with you. You can contact me in comments, or just watch this space.
