“In the field of Social and Sandplay work, we often hold others — but rarely have a space that holds us.” Rina Louw

🌿 Creating a Reflective Community for Growth
In the helping professions, we hold stories of pain, resilience, and transformation. Yet, the space to process our own emotional experiences and professional challenges is often limited. Holding the Space is a new international online supervision and training circle designed to nurture that essential reflective container for practitioners working with children, families, and communities.
The initiative, facilitated by Rina Louw, offers a blend of professional supervision, peer consultation, and training input — grounded in Jungian, trauma-informed, and expressive therapy approaches.
This circle is open to:
- Social Workers
- Social Auxiliary Workers
- Jungian Sandplay Therapists
🪶 Why “Holding the Space”?
In Jungian practice, holding the space means creating a safe, symbolic container where transformation can occur. It is the sacred middle ground between the known and the unknown — the place where the practitioner listens deeply, reflects, and allows meaning to unfold.
For those who support others through trauma, loss, and growth, supervision becomes more than professional accountability — it becomes a ritual of renewal.
Through shared reflection and creative dialogue, practitioners reconnect with their sense of purpose, intuition, and inner balance.
🌱 What the Circle Offers
Each online gathering will provide a combination of:
- Clinical reflection: Discussing real cases, ethical dilemmas, and the therapeutic process.
- Training input: Integrating Jungian and expressive tools such as Sandplay, clay work, and symbol exploration.
- Peer learning: Drawing on collective wisdom and shared experience.
- Self-awareness practice: Attending to one’s own emotions, boundaries, and personal development.
Initial sessions will run as open, drop-in consultations to explore participants’ needs and rhythms. From there, the group may evolve into ongoing circles with specific themes or focus areas.
🌍 An International Circle
Practitioners from all regions are welcome. Whether you work in a school, NGO, private practice, or community setting, this space invites you to connect with colleagues across cultures who share the same commitment to depth, creativity, and healing.
💬 Help Shape the Journey
Before the circle launches, you are invited to take part in a short online questionnaire to share your professional needs and interests.
Your responses will help tailor the sessions to real-world experiences and expectations of those in the field.
